This
regulatory compliance course (MCS-P) is offered at various locations
throughout the country and is available and beneficial to any person
interested in furthering their knowledge of regulatory compliance
issues within a medical practice. It provides comprehensive training
and the tools necessary
to develop, implement and maintain a compliance program for any specialty
and any size clinical environment.

Multi-physician
Practice and Solo Practice Personnel |
There
is a Compliance Program to fit all situations and all specialties.
All physician practices, regardless of size, will need to make an
assessment of policies and procedures from patient in-take through
the billing process. This educational program will assist in the
design of a Compliance Program to fit your needs.

Other
Medical Practice Personnel |
The
OIG has defined Physician as, "(1) A doctor of medicine or
osteopathy; (2) a doctor of dental surgery or of dental medicine;
(3) a podiatrist; (4) an optometrist; or (5) a chiropractor, all
of whom must be appropriately licensed by the State." This
course will benefit all physician practices.
It
is the responsibility of the Compliance Officer to address the seven
basic regulatory compliance program elements as outlined by the
OIG. This educational opportunity will provide additional resources
to fulfill this requirement. It is the responsibility of each practice
to demonstrate the operational effectiveness of their Compliance
Program.

PPMC
(Physician Practice Management Company) or PPO (Physician Practice
Organization) Personnel |
Corporate
personnel involved with the management of physician practices will
acquire additional foundational tools and knowledge to effectively
design, develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Compliance
Program for all practice sites.
| |
MSO
(Managed Service Organization) Personnel |
MSO
management personnel will be developing, implementing and maintaining
a Compliance Program that is interwoven into the operational philosophy
of an organization responsible for providing clinical healthcare
services. A Compliance Program can provide some protection for the
managing organization and the practitioner from potential fraudulent
or erroneous conduct.
| |
Billing
and Reimbursement Personnel |
The
OIG has specifically identified risk areas associated with billing.
These areas have been among the most frequent subjects of investigations
and audits. The Compliance Program should reflect reimbursement
principals in accordance with applicable, specialty specific, statutes
and regulations. Billing and reimbursement personnel will gain education
and training to allow them to better fulfill the requirements of
a comprehensive Compliance Program.
A
Healthcare Consultant must have the knowledge and tools necessary
to advise and assist the physician’s practice in complying with
the requirements of the OIG Model Compliance Plan. This educational
program will aid the Healthcare Consultant in the design and development
of an effective, site specific Compliance Program.
This
regulatory compliance program cannot encompass every practice situation,
however it will provide additional information necessary to analyze
each situation and develop a Compliance Program to meet your needs.
